Here's a video of our primary transportation, the chinook. Most of the bases are pretty high up, so there aren't too many helicopters that can fly at such a high altitude. Riding in a chinook is like riding in a really long rollercoaster.

I rode on a few Chinooks while in Vietnam but we had another name for them which I can't repeat here. Chinooks have amazing load capacity, If it can be loaded or slinged they can carry it. I once saw a Chinook flying overhead with several water buffalo hanging beneath. Not something you see everyday. One important rule of dealing with Chinooks is to avoid standing in or near their rotorwash. It's like being sandblasted.
